Physical therapy professionals are constantly confronted with a variety of ethical and moral dilemmas. Their decisions, or failure to make decisions, can have long-range effects professionally and personally for providers, patients, healthcare entities, and society as a whole. Why does one value win out over another? What does the decision process involve? How do these decisions impact those involved? Directed to physical therapists (PTs) and physical therapist assistants (PTAs) licensed in the state of Tennessee, this 4-hour course addresses how to approach moral and ethical dilemmas. State-specific laws and rules governing physical therapy practice are also presented.
