The Reporting Requirements for PACE

PACE, or Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, is a Medicare- and Medicaid-funded program. PACE helps people over 55 years of age who need nursing home-level care live in their communities safely (Medicare, n.d.). Being able to remain in a familiar space benefits the well-being of many older adults. To ensure the safety of the PACE program, quality improvement (QI) processes must be done. The results of these QI processes are reported and tracked. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and other agencies require that participating PACE organizations (POs) follow QI reporting guidelines. These POs must submit quality data to CMS on a quarterly basis. In this course, you will learn about the CMS PACE reporting requirements. You will also learn about the use of a root cause analysis (RCA) for the investigation of reportable events.
